Community Shows Support for JobsFirstForWA
We’ve seen incredible support from the communities who will be affected by an increase in the gold royalty. Our campaign has been seen by more than 2 million people since Monday’s rally in Kalgoorlie. It is clear there’s a huge appetite from the public, particularly on social channels, to make their point to the Labor State Government that an increase puts jobs at risk.
By way of example, some of the comments on a single post on the Kalgoorlie Miner’s Facebook page show a clearer understanding of the issues from those living and working in gold communities than we’ve seen so far from the Treasurer:
Christopher Hurst makes the point that the proposed increase in the royalty will halt exploration, and that in turns hurts jobs.
And as Gary Kennedy notes: “just think of all those lives and families you are playing with”. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
